Park Maintenance Proposal Request

Ridgebury Township Supervisors are requesting proposals for lawn care services for the Ridgebury Township Park facility.

The duration of the contract shall be from April 1, 2010 to October 31, 2010.

The Township shall lease the lawn mowing equipment from the person chosen to perform the maintenance services.  The Township has the right to pre-approve the equipment.  Equipment rental will be paid in April.  The Township will supply the gasoline for the maintenance activity.

The Township shall employ the person as a part time employee, subject to Township’s Worker Compensation coverage. Wages will be divided and paid in 6 monthly payments from April thru October.

Please provide:

            Proposed wages and equipment rental rates for the above period.

            Proposal should be in a sealed envelope with "Park Maintenance Proposal" noted on the outside, and received no later        than March 3, 2010  at the Ridgebury Township Municipal Office; 13278 Berwick Turnpike Gillett, PA 16925. 

The following are the general specs for park maintenance. Exact maintenance schedules and frequency can not be dictated due to the variation in growing seasons.  The overall expectation of Ridgebury Township is for the entire Park facility to be maintained with a high amount of care, quality and appearance.

Specs:

• Time Frame:  April through end of August (end of Little League season) and from end of August to end of growing season.
• During Little League Season: Mowing/Maintenance should be done at least twice a week, depending on type of growing season. Little League fields should be done as often as needed to meet suitable playing field standards.
• Mowing from end of Little League season to end of growing season shall be once a week or as needed.
• Maintenance of areas that can not be mowed (fences, bleacher area, parking lot area, concession area) shall be trimmed and weed control.
• Maintenance work on Little League fields and surrounding area has to be performed when the fields are not in use by Little League for practice or games.
• All appropriate safety equipment must be worn and supplied by the employee.
