Ridgebury Township 

 Supervisors’ Meeting

April 7, 2010

 

Sup. Allen called the Supervisors Meeting to order at 7:00 pm at the Ridgebury Township Municipal Building, 13278 Berwick Turnpike Gillett, PA. He led those in attendance to a pledge to the flag.  Members Present:  Lawrence Ostrander, James Allen, Timothy Watkins.

 

Announcement of recording:  Township, Scala.

 

Citizens Input

·     Pat Scala - Questions in regard to bank copy fees and duties of the secretary.

·     Gary Wood - Emergency Operations Plan is almost completed. Mr. Wood asked for an addition to the previous month's minutes.   Requested his response to a question of Sup. Allen stating "the old Township ordinances did not give the Supervisors enough authority, the UCC ordinances covers more" be included.

·     Bob Galvin - Questions in regard to dam legal status.

 

 

Meeting Minutes

·     Sup. Ostrander made a motion to accept the minutes of the March 3 Supervisors Meeting, with Mr. Wood's requested changes, seconded by Sup. Allen, motion carried.

 

 

Treasurer’s Report

·     Sup. Allen made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report and pay bills, seconded by Sup. Ostrander, motion carried.

·     Sup. Allen questioned the donation on Treasurers Report. Secretary explained that it was anonymous donation to the Ridgebury Fire Company made in the Memory of John Harney.

 

 

Reports

·     Tim Ackley, Road Foreman gave the Monthly Road Report.

·     Code Inspections report was reviewed.

·     Auditor Judy Walsh gave the Auditors report for Fiscal Year 2009.

 

Sanitation

Request from Wentz & Webster, representing John McMann, Monkey Run Road. Request for the Township to complete the Highway Occupancy Permit and sewer repair agreement. Secretary will research this with Bradford County Sanitation. Sup. Allen made a motion to complete the necessary paperwork for this repair, pending the additional information Secretary receives, seconded by Sup. Watkins, motion carried.

 

Correspondence & Communications

·     No correspondence to discuss.

 

Old Business

·       Bid Opening:

o      Cinders - bid for 1,500 ton more or less of Penn Dot approved anti-skid cinders.  One bid was received:  Matthews Truck $18.03/ton. 

§        Sup. Allen made a motion to accept the cinder bid of Matthews Trucking, seconded by Sup. Ostrander, motion carried.

o      Fuel - bid for 6,000 gal m/l of ultra low sulfur diesel fuel and 1,500 gal m/l of 86 Oct NL gas to be delivered to Township garage, Two fuel bids were received: 

§       Welles Mill Co.:  Diesel - 2.4265/gallon  & Gas - 2.43/gallon

§       Williams Oil Co.:  Diesel - 2.5244/gallon  & Gas - 2.478/gallon

·       Sup. Allen made a motion to accept the Welles Mill bid, pending Solicitor approval in regard to bond, seconded by Sup. Watkins, motion carried.

o      2RC -  bid for 4,500 ton m/l of Penn Dot approved 2RC to be stored and picked up at supplier's location through the end of October 2010.  Supplier's location must be within a 15 mile radius of the Township garage. Two bids were received:

§       Porter's Concrete Service - $7.00 per ton

§       Calvin C. Cole, Inc. - $5.00 per ton

·       Sup. Allen made a motion to accept Calvin C. Cole's bid, seconded by Sup. Ostrander, motion carried.

 

New Business

·       Dust Oil  - Sup. Allen made a motion for secretary to get quotes for and advertise for Dust Oil, seconded by Sup. Watkins, motion carried.

·       Exonerations - Sup. Ostrander made a motion to accept the tax exonerations, seconded by Sup. Allen, motion carried.

 

A moment of silence was held in memory of John Harney.

 

Sup. Allen made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Sup. Watkins, motion carried.
